BRE will be at EcoBuild (5-7 March) again this year and BREEAM will be well represented in the programme of activities.  ‘What’s new for BREEAM in 2013’ will be one of the daily ‘BRE Bite’ presentations at BRE's stand (N2040). BREEAM is also featuring in Ecobuild's own seminar programme and the annual BREEAM Awards will be presented in the Platinum Suite on 5 March. These recognise the highest scoring buildings under BREEAM each year.

Streamlined BREEAM for ‘simple buildings’

A set of BREEAM criteria has been developed as an addendum to the BREEAM 2011 New Construction scheme, which is specifically adapted for use on simpler buildings. Due to be available from late February, the simple buildings criteria set has been produced in response to feedback from industry and government on the need for a proportionate and cost effective approach for less complex buildings. Castleward has been certified under BREEAM Communities 2008. The Communities scheme has recently been updated – for details of the latest version click here.
