ETV scheme for energy technologies, and materials, waste and resources technologies

BRE Global to operate an Environmental Technology Verification (ETV) scheme that includes financial support to SMEs.

BRE Global has successfully bid for EU funding to operate an Environmental Technology Verification scheme for energy technologies, and materials, waste and resources technologies.

ETV is ideal for innovative, market-ready products that do not fit into existing certification schemes. Suppliers can struggle to differentiate their products and gain access to markets if they cannot provide independent confirmation of their performance and/or compliance with industry standards. ETV scheme operators, such as BRE Global, bridge this gap by providing a ‘Statement of Verification’ which provides independent confirmation of a technology owner’s performance claims for their product.

In order to issue a Statement of Verification a verification body must be satisfied that the performance claims made by the technology owner are accurate. This is done by agreeing a schedule of testing with a competent testing organisation and then reviewing the results of the testing. If all is well the Statement of Verification is issued and published.

BRE Global will shortly be able to offer financial support to SMEs applying for verification of their product’s performance under the ETV.
