Feed-in Tariffs (FITs) and the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) provide long-term financial support for generating electricity and heat from renewable energy sources. They have been designed by the Department for Energy and Climate Change (DECC) to help the UK reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
FITs commenced on 1 April 2010 and the non-domestic RHI scheme launched in November 2011 while the domestic RHI scheme launched on 9 April 2014.
To be eligible for FITs and RHIs you must use an MCS (or equivalent) approved product and installer.
