BRE Environmental and Sustainability Standards
Our Environmental and Sustainability Standards are produced to help ensure that a product or service meets the needs of users or where a new unproven technology is introduced.
Usually a team of experts is formed to research and draft a standard which is then reviewed, assessed and endorsed by stakeholders representing the major interest groups. These standards are always open to revision and suggestions for improvement are always welcomed.
Environmental and Sustainability Standards are costly for us to produce and maintain and do not contain all the information needed for other bodies to use for testing and certification purposes.
We are however keen to train, audit and licence other organisations who have the requisite capabilities to test, assess and certify against Environmental and Sustainability Standards.
Our BES Standards will cover a vast range of sustainability and environmental issues including:
- Responsible Sourcing of Materials
- Water efficient products
- Renewable energy
- Building assessment methods
- Air quality
- Waste
