Chair of Council and Senior Pro-Chancellor of Loughborough University, Sir Peter Bonfield presented an Honorary Doctor of Science Award to BRE Chief Executive Dr Peter Bonfield at a ceremony at the university earlier today.
The award recognizes Peter’s contribution to building science in delivering the buildings, homes and communities that work for people, the environment and the economy. It is one of ten honorary degrees the university has given to individuals this year in recognition for the contribution they have made to society.
Dr Bonfield graduated from Loughborough University in 1985, with an MSc in polymer technology.

Commenting on his Honorary Doctorate, Peter Bonfield said “I am so proud to receive this award from Loughborough, not only because of my personal links to the university having spent many happy and productive years studying here but also because of its world renowned reputation for excellence in research, something that I am passionate about in my role as Chief executive of BRE. Thank you to the University for this great honour.”
