As an international centre of excellence for the built environment, BRE provides customers worldwide with robust, science-based standards, certification schemes, training and qualifications that help them create better products, buildings, homes and communities.

While the people of the UK have voted to leave the EU, we remain completely committed to bringing the best of building science to our clients and partners in Europe and around the world.

With our international offices in the US, China, the Middle East, India and Brazil and strong relationships and agreements with over 70 countries around the world, our standards, schemes and qualifications are used and required by regulators, insurers, real estate owners and others simply because they are built on a strong science and engineering base that brings tangible benefits.

BREEAM is the most widely used green certification scheme for buildings in Europe and has always been a voluntary scheme. Customers adopt it because it brings the best environmental, economic and social results for their projects and their businesses. This will continue to grow, as will CEEQUAL our international sustainability mark for infrastructure.

Our international LPCB certification schemes for fire and security products provide our customers with a stamp of approval which gives them direct access to trade in 64 countries.

The well-established and harmonised regulatory approval system for construction products, materials and technologies which makes trading easier across member and non-member states in Europe will remain intact and along with it our very strong presence in the European standards committees which govern the approval system.

We will continue to collaborate with our partners on European research projects through our well established network groups so we can share learning together and further our positive impact on the built environment for the benefit of all.

We currently benefit from a wonderful array of very talented people who have joined us from across the EU and further afield, making us strong. We will continue to work hard to ensure we are a magnet for the best and brightest people from Europe and the rest of the world
