BRE has won the St Albans District Chamber Community Business Award for Best Green Business. The award, sponsored by St Albans City & District Council, reflects BRE’s commitment to helping its customers adopt the best sustainable business practices as well as delivering a healthy, happy and sustainable working environment for its 600-strong team through its sustainability strategy the S Plan.

Receiving the award from Councillor Beric Read at a ceremony in St Albans cathedral last night, BRE Sustainability Manager Stuart Blofeld said ‘I’m absolutely delighted to accept this award on behalf of BRE. It’s a testament to hard work that my colleagues who volunteer their time to deliver innovative projects to improve BRE’s sustainability performance across many areas including energy, waste, transport and community engagement. We are passionate about sustainability at BRE and improving our own business, I intend to capitalise on this award by going back to the business and striving for bigger and better things’.

The Community Business Awards celebrate the outstanding contribution of business to the community of the St Albans District. They are based not solely on successes and achievements but also upon the impact of those achievements on the business community and the people working within it.
